Admission Information
In school year 2004/2005 the
Faculty of Economics adopted the new curriculum by which,
besides new scientific disciplines and disciplinary tracks,
promots a special, liberal regime of Studies.
Implementing European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), the Faculty
joined the unique European educational area, which, first of all
promotes The Process of Bologna, and enables the efficient
mobility of the students and professors around Europe.
The new model of Studies appeared to be of high quality and very
attractive, so the Faculty of Economics today is enrolled mostly
by the best high school pupils in Montenegro.
The teaching at the Faculty is carried out throughout eight
semesters in the form of lectures, seminars, exercises,
consultations and laboratory. The quality and
continuity of the students’ work is provided by the regular
checks of their knowledge during the school year (tests, oral
examinations and seminar papers), by using the modern
informational and video techniques, professional literature and
other aid material. Of the students we demand work,
self-discipline, freedom of expression and communication,
critical attitude toward content, quality and methods of working
and eager accomplishment of the duties proscribed by the
Curriculum and regime of Studies. The philosophy "Exam is
Important" is suppressed by new motto "Knowledge is Important".
The teaching is scientifically informated. In addition to the
three computer rooms with modern equipment, the Faculty
possesses an Internet Centre.
For its own needs, The Faculty’s Library contains about 15.000
titles, computer processed domestic and foreign reference
literature.
The organization of the students’ life at the Faculty is mostly
coordinated and directed by numerous students’ organizations,
especially SSEF, AISEC, Entrepreneur Club, Students’ Society of
Podgorica, Montenegrin Students’ Society, Student Alternative
and Students’ debating club.
In its main task, taking care of the students, The Faculty
provides scholarships for all students at third and forth year
who have a grade point average more than 9.00. For the students
who graduate in the regular expected period of time with the
average grade 8.5, the Faculty provides their start employment.
As a part of the teaching and educational process at the Faculty
of Economics, beside the regular four-year and postgraduate
studies, there had been the two-year Business School, founded in
1993 and after that year it became a three-year Graduate School
of Management in 2004. The school was founded with the intention
to enable the students receiving, first of all, practical
knowledge necessary for managing the personal business,
especially in the field of accounting, finances and informatics.
The full professional affirmation of the students and graduate
economists from our Faculty is the best evidence of successful
mission that the Faculty has in the modern Montenegro.
